The Habitat Conservation Subcommittee is creating an inventory of tools for marine habitat conservation in the Gulf of Maine. Please use this form to submit information for inclusion in the inventory. These projects should have a focus on marine habitat conservation and should be an ongoing effort with implications, models, or applications to the broader Gulf of Maine. A chemical contaminants monitoring program in the Gulf of Maine administered by the Gulf of Maine Council on the Marine Environment.

Habitat conservation-related work:
Regional near-shore contaminant monitoring using the blue mussel (Mytilus edulis) as an indicator of habitat exposure to pollutants.

Available tools:
Data on PAH, PCB, metal and pesticide concentrations found in blue mussels can be downloaded from the Gulf of Maine Council website as html, text or Excel files.
