Title: Maine Lakes Transparency, Color & Chemistry: Annual Mean Values
Data Provider: Bacon, Linda
Data Years: 1940-2018

Abstract:

This data set contains annual mean values (with maxima and minima) for Secchi transparency, color and a series of water chemistry parameters for surveyed Maine lakes. Data were collected by Maine Department of Environmental Protection (MDEP), the Volunteer Lake Monitoring Program and other organizations. Data were provided by L. Bacon (MDEP). Annual means were calculated (by MDEP) by first calculating monthly means and then using these to derive the annual means (i.e. averaging the monthly averages). Note, however, that the number of sampling dates that contribute to these means is variable among years, lakes and parameter.

Data are current through the 2018 sampling year.
