This report, created by David A. Brooks of the Department of Oceanography, at Texas A&M Univeristy, explores the characteristics and qualities of the Gulf of Maine. It begins by describing the Gulf, its channels and its banks and continues on to discuss the Gulf's tides and the non-tidal circulation of the Gulf's waters. The report concludes with some strategies for the future, specifically a monitoring program for the Gulf of Maine whose data would help to predict the non-tidal aspects of circulation in the Gulf.
