Coastal 2000 - A Consultation Paper. July 1994. 109 pp.

Coastal 2000 was developed by the Nova Scotia Land Use Planning Committee to create a framework for the planning needed in Nova Scotia. Coastal 2000 was designed to be community based and community lead and to provide for sustainable economic development based on community priorities. This paper creates a foundation for the implementation of a management plan by first defining the coastal zone, placing Nova Scotia's coastal zone in perspective and outlining the key issues in the coastal zone. After creating this framework, the paper focuses on the goals and objectives in coastal zone management and based on these goals, proposes strategies for implementation.
