This report outlines the standard procedures for the GulfWatch implementation period between 1993-2001. This resource first discusses site selection and site standards. Also outlined are field procedures, including information on the deployment period, marking mussels for deployment, measuring growth, cage maintenance, labeling, handling and transport. The report also contains a section on measurement and sample preparation, which describes length, growth and condition indices, draining of mussels, composite preparation and shipping.
