This executive summary outlines the primary objectives of the June 2000 meeting between NOAA and the Gulf of Maine Council, as well as describes the priority actions that were generated from the meeting. The purpose of this meeting was to determine linkages between NOAA's actions and the Gulf of Maine Council's interests, to identify areas for collaboration to be accomplished in the next six to eighteen months and to identify new areas for further collaboration. The five priority actions that resulted from this meeting are to coordinate dissemination of products and information form the Cooperative Institute for Coastal and Estuarine Education and Technology, regional restoration planning and coordination, marine protected areas, benthic habitat mapping and to reduce the impact of land-based activities on the Gulf of Maine.
