Van Dusen, Katrina. Our Fragile Gulf. 1990. 7 pp.

This resource, Our Fragile Gulf, first appeared in the Spring 1990 issue of Maine Boats & Harbor magazine. It consists of two articles, the first being on the Gulf of Maine's diversity and the second on the visitor center of the Wells Reserve at Laudholm Farm. The first article focuses on the Gulf of Maine, beginning with information on its formation through glacial ice and then discussing its geology and geography, focusing on the attributes of the coast. The article continues on to give information on the variations in the Gulf's properties, in the temperature, salinity, density and nutrient concentration and how they contribute to the diverse habitat in the Gulf. The second article tells the history of the Laudholm Farm, from its construction to its current use as the visitor center at the Wells Reserve.
